Restauracja Goldwasser
Gdynia
At a glance
Restauracja Goldwasser stands on Długie Pobrzeże beside the Motława, close to the historic Gdańsk Crane. Its riverside setting places it within the Old Town waterfront, making it a practical dining stop for visitors exploring central Gdańsk, including travellers coming from Gdynia.
The restaurant serves traditional Polish food alongside international dishes, with meat-based cooking forming an important part of the menu. Fresh vegetables and poultry are supplied from Kashubian farms, while dishes are prepared daily. The kitchen is particularly associated with steaks served with gold and a foie gras pairing. The menu also includes options suited to a lighter visit, such as dessert, tapas and wine.
Goldwasser's drinks selection focuses on traditional Gdańsk spirits. It includes Machandel juniper vodka, the spiced Kurfürsten and Goldwasser liqueur containing 23-carat gold flakes. Goldwasser can be enjoyed in the restaurant or purchased in decorative bottles and gift sets. The venue also has its own bakery and a confectionery workshop producing pralines with varied fillings, including Goldwasser liqueur.
Interior design draws on the character of old Gdańsk entrance halls, with four rooms arranged across different levels. The layout includes quieter corners for a candlelit meal, as well as spaces for gatherings of around 30 to 40 people. A banquet room on the first floor features motifs inspired by Gustav Klimt and accommodates up to 25 guests for dinners, receptions and other occasions. The restaurant as a whole can seat up to 180 people.
A glassed-in terrace on the first floor seats up to 30 guests and remains available throughout the year. It looks across the city and the Motława, with passing boats adding to the waterfront atmosphere. The combination of varied rooms, a terrace and a broad menu makes Goldwasser suitable for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, drinks, business gatherings and private celebrations.
